Second part of vacation month. This was my backyard.
Amber Miller and I flew down to Miami to visit Kristina and her family including brand new, baby Noah!
He is just too cute. Literally impossible to pick from the three, so you just put them all together!
From Miami, Amber and I took a couple days and drove down through the Keys. Random and frequent stops a must.
First beach: Curry Hammock
Second beach: Bahia Honda
We finally made it down to the proclaimed Southern most point of the US, where I greeted Mr. Albert Kee with a high-five.
Seafood at the Marina and then Sunset Celebration
Sliding down behind Tank Island.
Next morning we took the first seaplane out of Key West Airport heading for the end of the keys.
Garden Key. Fort Jefferson. and Dry Tortugas National Park.
coming in for a landing!
Exploring Fort Jefferson
Looking down on our seaplane on the beach from the top of Fort Jefferson.
Sitting atop a cannon, looking out across at Laggerhead Key and the lighthouse there.
Walking the circumference atop Fort Jefferson's walls.
Amber and I at Dry Tortugas.
Then walking the circumference down and around the moat.
Brick. Even in the wall separating moat from Gulf.
Fort Jefferson
Swimming and snorkeling at Dry Tortugas.
Sunken ships
Aerial view of the Quick Sands.
On the flight home, I got to be co-pilot! However, John was a very capable pilot, really rendering my co-piloting efforts unnecessary.
Stopping in the keys for more beach time as we meandered our way back up to Miami.
The last day we spent back in Miami hanging out with Kristina doing Noah-friendly things. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens was a fantastic find.
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden
Orchids growing in their natural state, between rocks and out from the sides of trees.
Rainbow Eucalyptus
Dinners in the back yard. Me, Sirish with Noah, Kristina and Momsy
Amber, Me, Kristina
And last but definitely not least, I can't help but share with you the look Noah gave me for pulling out my camera during bath time.
Much Love.
