Yo estoy con cabello mojado.

Saturday I drove down my street going somewhere. nothing out of the ordinary, just a regular street. Sunday I drove down the street again and my mouth literally dropped open as I passed by a huge tree laden down with blossoms the most brilliant color of yellow. Those blossoms had not been there the previous day and I was shocked that in one day an entire tree could burst open in color like that.

Made some brownies this past weekend with some friends. Realized we didn't have a pan so I made some out of aluminum foil. I think I was the only one that actually believed it would work, the others were just going along with another crazy idea. But made believers out of them in the end! haha! boy were those brownies good!

Shabnam went home this past weekend to celebrate the Persian New Year with her family. However, she did not forget us back in Guadalajara. She brought an entire Persian feast back with her. Everything was cooked in California. Wrapped up well. Flown across borders. Unpacked in Guadalajara, and then promptly devoured. I can't believe she got that food across the border. I think God knew we were going to be very hungry last night!!!

i think my feet are starting to deteriorate. Seems like I've got permanent blisters in a couple of places. Some of which have rubbed so deep that blood vessels have broken filling my blisters with blood. Then my feet get so filthy, dirty, and sweaty during the day that I scrub them good when I take my showers. As a result they are starting to dry out and crack adding to my discomfort during walking. Finally, I'm acummulating bumps and bruises on them from people who aim for the soccer ball and hit my feet instead. Just as long as they remain attached to my legs I think I'll be good.

Only four of us showed up to play soccer today. No deterence there, we played two on two for about 1 1/2 hours.

Yo estoy feliz.

Staying home this weekend and trying to do some major catch up on things that have been building up.

Had the cardiac physiology exam yesterday. Taking the exam I was annoyed by the fact that, in the vinettes, each patient was presenting with chest pain. Why couldn't the exam writer use example of patients that had pain in places other than just chest? Had to hit myself for that one. Doy!!

Taking the test my classmate, Marcelo, sat in front of me. He likes to think of himself as a thug. Wears his cap backwards and whatnot. Anyways, he, as well as most of my classmates, listen to some hard music to pump them up to take the exams. It made me smile, as I had been listening to Newsies to 'pump' me up. Man would I get made fun of for that one.

Now that my parents have returned home some of my friends are giving me a hard time that I didn't share them enough. I'll have to remember that for next time.

Drama has occurred this past week in our class. A derogatory comment was made about one of our professors. Those responsible (and one not responsible, but it occurred on his computer) were threatened with expulsion. Their meeting was on Thursday and punishments meted, none expelled. I was very thankful that none were expelled. Granted the comment being made was immature and unprofessional, but was not made with malicious intent. For the professors and administration to respond by expelling these students would have been taking vengeance too far and a flat out abuse of power.

Hasta!!

Yo estoy comiendo la comida.

Christy dropped her parents off at the airport bright and early this morning. (Well, guess it wasn't bright yet....just early.)
She was very surprised to see so many cars on the roads. Some Mexicans do rise early, wonders will never cease.
Calculating the time now....her parents are probably driving for Gridley from Chicago.

Christy is enjoying her newly cleaned blinds, her TY puppy, Boe, and the last of her dulces frutitas.

Christy has to learn everything there is to know about the heart by Friday!

Christy wishes everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Christy doesn't know why she is using third person for this post.

Christy is going to say hasta before she starts to scare too many people!

Hasta!

Yo estoy escuchando a mi amigo toca su guitarra.

Histology final was today. I'm so glad to be done with those professors. Histo lab final tomorrow.

I just had to explain to my friend why his keyboard had a key with an upside-down question mark. He was rather upset. After I explained, he responded with "well that's useless!"

Went to PMC today instead tomorrow so I can pick my parents up tomorrow! I was excitedly talking to my doctor about my parents arriving tomorrow but instead of using papás I used papas. My doctor got a kick out of the fact that I'm picking my potatoes up tomorrow.

After PMC today helped my friend break into her apartment. Well I stood there and watched as two of our guy friends broke in. Then I held the pieces of the busted up doorknob. I felt very useful!! The whole situation reminded me of when I was about ready to drop kick my printer, and the same individuals helped out. I hold the tools/materials, Shabnam takes the pictures, Sung and Adrian perform the surgery.

Hasta!

Update on Sarah: She has been enrolled in school for a few weeks, is going every day, and is making friends.

Yo estoy usando la red de mi amiga.

Hello everyone!!!!!!!!!!!! Buenas Dias!!!!
I wake up to birds singing up a storm nowadays. Funny, when you pay attention to the details one can decipher the passage of seasons in Guadalajara. Just takes me a while to tune in to them as I'm used to the drastic changes of the seasons in central IL.
I broke another pair of sandals the other day. Mexico is proving to be tough on the footwear.
I classmate told me the other day that I am able to nicely dress-down a skirt. I should have told her I've had many years of practice, but I was kind of caught of guard by the comment.
Walked out of my apartment ready for class this morning to see that my poor car was sitting there with a flat tire. Poor thing looked so sad. Took it to the shop down the street and got it patched up. It feels much better now. :)
This past Tuesday at PMC I was sent on a house visit to an address that didn't exist. Unfortunately, the confirmation that it didn't exist didn't come until after two hours of searching when we stopped at one of the churches and inquired. Argh!
Behavioral Sciences class has started. Census taken of my classmates after the first class concerning their opinion of the profesora produced the following...."Was she drunk?!?!"
I'm an American who just had Japanese food, Persian tea, and German chocolate....in Mexico. This world is amazing.

Hasta!

Yo estoy necesitando estudiar mucho.

1) I'm drinking Sprite out of a blue bottle! oooooo!
2) A man was mowing the soccer fields today, but we played anyways..... so there's a portion that didn't get mowed.
3) My neighbor's puppy, Daisy!

4) My parents are coming in 8 days, and I'm very excited!!
5) I washed my car today!!!! It was worse than ever before, and my car's been pretty dirty before. Mexico's a dusty place during the dry season what can I say?
6) It's strawberry, orange, mandarin season. I can't wait for mango season to start.
7) I've gotten the ok from CVE so looks like I'll be headed up North for my spring break. I've had classmates ask if they can come with. Why not!!! Let's see how they take to praying before each meal for two whole weeks. (Yes, they know what to expect, or maybe they think they know...)
8)I've got much to keep me busy tonight!
9)March is Mexico's windy month. It was very noticeable in Ixtlan, not so much here in the city, but then again, the month has just started.
10) In case you couldn't tell, this was a very scattered blog post!!
